‘Drifter’ is the newest work from 24-year-old self taught producer Elisabeth Verstraete aka Polar Youth and features in her debut Lost & Found EP. This EP has been a process of discovery for Polar Youth, finding her musical identity, battling with self-doubt and eventually finding the confidence to push forward with her solo project. Previously, this producer’s role was to create music for others, like DJ Fresh, the rapper Coely or the Swedish duo The Endorphins, and although tracks like ‘Drifter’ feature artists Fortress and Trent The Hooligan, the track is definitively true to Polar Youth. The enveloping atmosphere of Verstraete’s atmospheric electronics is blissful. Fortress’ voice floats along with the dreamy beats until American rapper Trent the Hooligan steps up to the plate for a bass-backed verse.
